Following the release of Laudate Deum, Pope Francis’ recent Apostolic Exhortation on the climate crisis and the critical role of Europe and the climate and environmental policies of the European Union in the common struggle to care for our common home, a conference titled The “New” Laudate Deum & the EU’s Green Transition will be held on 7 December 2023 in Brussels, Belgium.
The program includes an introduction by Xavier De Bénazé SJ, Laudato Si’ Delegate of EOF, the Jesuit French-Speaking Province in Western Europe, followed by an exchange between Josianne Gauthier, Secretary General of CIDSE, and a member of the European Parliament.
Organized by COMECE, the Jesuit European Social Centre (JESC), and the European Laudato Si’ Alliance (ELSia), the conference is an occasion to better understand the importance of Pope Francis’ message in rediscovering our vocation as guardians of Creation, restoring the harmonious relationship between humanity and Creation, and ensuring that the green transition truly “leaves no one behind.”
The conference will be held at COMECE, Square de Meeus, 19/1, from 18:00 to 19:30 (CET) and is an in-person event that will be livestreamed. Those interested to join in person need to register here. For further information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
