Faith communities in COP26

Faith communities in COP26

The Parliament of the World’s Religions is partnering with the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 to host a webinar on 22 February on the role of faith communities in COP26.

Keeping up the pressure: The role of faith communities in COP26 recognizes that in this critical year for climate action, civil society must demand greater ambition from their national governments headed into COP26.

Faith-based organizations, with their significant numbers and clout, play an important role. During the webinar, leaders in government and the faith community will discuss strategies for keeping up the pressure.

This effort is also part of the World Interfaith Harmony Week, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in October 2010, and a platform for interfaith groups and other groups of goodwill around the world to host grassroot events and help different faiths get to know each other and collaborate on common actions.
