Rádio Amar e Servir launches Casa Comum program

Posted on: August 26, 2025 – by Jesuits Brazil / Original publication in Portuguese

On August 20, Rádio Amar e Servir premiered Casa Comum, a space for reflection and commitment through dialogue with people both inside and outside the Church, all united around the central themes of COP30, the world’s largest climate conference, which will take place in Belém (PA) in November 2025.

The program is hosted by Luiz Felipe Lacerda, Executive Secretary of the National Observatory of Socio-Environmental Justice Luciano Mendes de Almeida (OLMA) and announcer at the station.

The first edition addressed the theme The Latin American Organization of the Society of Jesus for COP30. It featured a conversation with Fr. Agnaldo Júnior, SJ, the point of reference on socio-environmental justice for the Conference of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America and the Caribbean (CPAL). The discussion focused on how Jesuits in Latin America are organizing to participate in COP30. It offered a unique opportunity to better understand the climate challenges, the Church’s proposals, and the importance of joining together in the mission of caring for our Common Home.

A partnership between OLMA, Rádio Amar e Servir, and the Jesuits’ Communication Office in Brazil, Casa Comum airs every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m., with replays on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. and Mondays at 10:00 a.m. (Brasília time)
